Gladiator Score Goes Platinum 20 Years After Release

Hans Zimmer, who is one of the iconic names  in composing history of the modern times, has finally gone platinum for his soundtrack in the movie Gladiator . He has composed for so many favorite movies of the 21st century and his loud, strong symphonies have contributed greatly for the movies’ success.

The movie Gladiator is a celebrated one that won five Academy Awards. It celebrated it’s 20 year anniversary this year and just in time for the sound track to go platinum.The story line is about a former general who is now a gladiator who has to do what gladiators do; fight for his life. And to spice things up, there’s some revenge added in as well! It is now on Netflix, so you can add that to your to watch list if you haven’t already! And this movie has one of Hans Zimmer’s most iconic and memorable tracks.

 

In his Facebook, Hans wrote that it was fun to celebrate Gladiator going Platinum for “Ridley, Lisa and me!”. Ridley Scott directed the film and Lisa Gerrard was one of the main vocalists for The Wheat track and the end credits anthem, Now We Are Free.
