Dog Abandoned By Family Stays On Blanket Awaiting Their Return

Dogs, often dubbed as ‘Man’s best friends’, are extremely loyal to their owners. Abandoning these creatures who heartily love, trust, and believe in their owners is one of the worst things a human can do. It’s truly devastating to see when some owners just don’t care about their pup’s well-being, and are cruel enough to put them out in the trash. Your inability to raise your pet is not an excuse to abandon your pet. Read through this story to see the traumatic impacts that pets face due to being left alone by their owners.

Camilla, a sweet little puppy in Dallas, was left alone with heaps of trash by her owners. The neighbors confirmed that Camilla’s owners moved houses, and left Camilla with the trash piles outside their property to be collected by the trash men. Her owners were so inconsiderate of her well-being that she was not even left with any food or water. Her blanket was the only thing that somewhat comforted her.

To add to the sadness, Camilla was left in the streets scared and alone, during New Year’s Eve, a time where everybody unites with their loved ones. Camilla didn’t bother to find food or shelter, and just stayed on her blanket and awaited the return of her owners, showing how much of a loyal pup she is. But they never returned.

Fortunately, Camilla was spotted by Marina Tarashevska, the co-founder of the animal rights organization Dallas DogRRR. When she was found, Camilla was staying curled up on her blanket, shivering in the cold. “She was in that stage of, ‘I’ll just wait here. This is familiar”, said Patti Dawson, executive director of Dallas DogRRR, to The Dodo.

Rescuing the pup was a difficult process as she was very fearful of strangers. But thanks to the efforts of the two woman, Camilla was finally transferred to a kennel. Describing Camilla’s terrified and doubtful reactions, Patti said: “You could touch her, but she was frozen in fear. Wouldn’t make eye contact, kept her head down.” She also added that whenever they tried to get close to Camilla, she would put her head back into the kennel.

Camilla is now doing better in a much happier place. She is now in a foster home, and is learning to trust people again. We wish that Camilla would find her forever home soon!
